چکیده
To evaluate the prediction error (PE) obtained in Phacoemulsification (Phaco) or Femtosecond (Femto) surgeries without considering posterior corneal astigmatism correction (non-PCA) versus based on Abulafia-Koch + Medicontur (AK) and Barrett calculators toric intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation. 58 right eyes were retrospectively retrieved from our database. Two groups formed by 28 30 depending surgery type, Phaco Femto respectively, defined. Astigmatism PE evaluated approach used for calculation of implanted IOL estimation PEs non-PCA formula. A doubly-multivariate analysis was conducted to assess differences between-surgery types, within-methods calculation, interaction. Mean centroid significantly different between non-PCA, AK approaches (p < 0.0005), neither 0.239) nor interaction = 0.672) found. Post-hoc univariate showed a higher x-component method (0.15 D, p 0.0005) (0.18 though no found (0.03 0.93). Against-the-rule under-correction with-the-rule overcorrection both arms when PCA not considered. Both provide comparable clinical results.

متن کاملMini Review Posterior Corneal Astigmatism and It’s Importance in Selection of Toric Intraocular Lens
This mini review focuses on the current knowledge on posterior corneal astigmatism based on the latest research. In the first part the definition, the magnitude as well as methods and devices for its evaluation are presented. Posterior corneal astigmatism measurement is improving as new technologies are evolving. It is now shown that the posterior corneal surface acts as a negative lens and as ...

متن کاملToric Intraocular Lens Implantation for Correction of Astigmatism in Cataract Patients with Corneal Ectasia
Our purpose was to examine the long-term efficacy of toric intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in cataract patients with high astigmatism due to corneal ectasia, who underwent phacoemulsification cataract surgery. Five eyes of 3 cataract patients with topographically stable keratoconus or pellucid macular degeneration (PMD), in which phacoemulsification with toric IOL implantation was used to c...
